Pay attention to all the people who were outraged about so-called "censorship" now go completely silent or even celebrate about several major high profile reporters being suspended for no reason. It was never about free speech, only about power.
As @mmasnick points out, it's crazy that in a matter of two weeks Elon Musk went from proudly revealing purportedly damning internal Twitter discussions about blocking links to a news article about Hunter Biden's laptop to banning users who posted publicly available information (flight data) and blocking users from posting links to a competing service. https://www.techdirt.com/2022/12/16/elon-tries-badly-to-defend-the-banning-of-journalists-as-twitter-starts-blocking-links-mentions-of-mastodon/
Elon Tries (Badly) To Defend The Banning Of Journalists As Twitter Starts Blocking Links & Mentions Of Mastodon

Look, I fucking warned Elon that this is exactly how it would go. It’s how it always goes. Remember Parler? They promised that they would moderate “based off the FCC and the Supreme cou…

"We call on Twitter to do the right thing and restore these accounts immediately. As for reports that the new owner, Mr. Musk, is directing this activity as retribution for unfavorable reporting, that simply must stop, or it will lead to all journalists leaving Twitter.” --Jen Judson, president of the National Press Club https://www.press.org/newsroom/national-press-club-statement-journalists-being-removed-twitter
National Press Club Statement on Journalists Being Removed from Twitter

WASHINGTON, Dec. 16 – Following is a statement from Jen Judson, president of the National Press Club, on reports that journalists have been removed from Twitter because of their reporting. “We are very disappointed at the many reports in recent days that Twitter accounts for prominent journalists at major brands have been deleted without warning or explanation. We call on Twitter to do the right thing and restore these accounts immediately. As for reports that the new owner, Mr. Musk, is directing this activity as retribution for unfavorable reporting, that simply must stop, or it will lead to all journalists leaving Twitter.” Founded in 1908, the National Press Club is the world’s leading professional organization for journalists. The Club has 3,000 members representing nearly every major news organization and is a leading voice for press freedom in the U.S. and worldwide. Fascinating. According to observers Musk's blocking of #Mastodon may be considered an anticompetitive action against a rapidly growing "rival", triggering U.S. federal government involvement.
#Twitter is asking me to remove three tweets to have my permanent suspension lifted.
This is what Twitter is now defining as "doxxing people's location." A factual piece of reporting about the company blocking a competitor. Can't do anything until I delete it.
CNN, WaPo, NYT journalists' accounts were restored. The Intercept and independent journalists were not. We've gotten the worst of it all: the criticism of being the “mainstream media” but without the backing or protection of being the “mainstream media.”
Tony Webster on Twitter

“This was my last tweet before my account was suspended. Needless to say, I was correct. This is not the free speech we were promised. To be clear, there was no ‘doxing’ – even if an impulsive, accountable-to-nobody oligarch said so.”
