Internal test ride view from @[email protected] #Ioniq5 inside a fun Thursday @[email protected] #LAAutoShow track. It's a funky #EV that is a hit. I see a lot of these around.
I find myself not very excited to share things lately, but need to get over the Twitter-depression hump and get back in there. Here's a butt orange from my backyard.
Mastodon is perfect for GenX because we’re all just roaming from house to house totally unsupervised and unless something goes really wrong nobody cares #GenX
@malacandra I'm not deactivating because I don't want anyone else taking my name. The account will go down with the ship.
If someone Likes or Boost something you've posted, do you go to their profile and see if they have an introduction or check out what their posts are like?
Feel free to Boost this for maximum exposure. I'm legitimately interested to know. Thanks!
Yes, every time for every person.

I like #Mastodon because I can follow people and topics I am interested in, all without an algorithm that force-feeds me filtered content, scrambles the timeline and tries to push me and encapsulates me into a bubble it thinks I should be a part of based on some "precisely calculated engagement formulas" for easier advertisement targeting.

It’s crazy how well #mastodon works given that it’s nearly entirely community driven.

It’s almost as if we don’t even need #bigtech, we just need passion, purpose, code, and connectivity.

If there's one thing I have learned from this Twitter meltdown it's that you should always set up accounts on random start up social media sites because who knows when you'll need one as an escape hatch

Boosts and replies are Mastodon's version of an algorithm: old-fashioned word of mouth. When people you follow boost or reply to a post (but not favorite) it is made visible in your feed. If it's interesting to you, you can then follow the person who wrote the original post.

In short, the people you follow are your algorithm!

Remember! If you see someone bringing some Twitter behaviour over here, the best way to deal with it is to start a new thread where you can moan about it and everyone else can join in with their example of such behaviour.

Addressing the guilty party about their behaviour directly is much more stressful and may cause unnecessary arguments.
