I think it's glorious that there's now a Mastodon server operated by people who used to work for Twitter (macaw.social). I could have never imagined it when I started in 2016.

Using this platform made me realise how I came to accept exposure to cruelty & hostility as part of the deal of being able to talk to you. The clicks algorithm is not necessarily our connection master. How refreshing to be reminded of that.

Random reminder that there’s no requirement that you be great at anything. Whatever you choose to do, it has value no matter what level of skill or ability you have. You’re not required to even WANT to be great at things!

It can be a lot of fun to do something badly. There’s a ton of utility in being “just ok” at things. Your contribution is worthwhile, and the people that try to tell you otherwise are assholes.
