Broughton's 1873 story 'The Truth, The Whole Truth, And Nothing But The Truth' ended with the note: 'This is a true story.' It was set in a house in Mayfair and blamed at the time for propagating ghastly tales told about 50 Berkeley Square, Mayfair, which became London's most infamous haunted house.

Maybe the real reason Big Tech turned on us is that their original plan was to monetize our search history by advertising things we were looking for, but we were all looking for things nobody wants to sell, like "better working conditions" and "social justice" and "affordable housing."

So far today, I've had:

1) a text message from Optus, telling me they're thanking me for being a long-time customer by stuffing "A.I." slop into my phone.

2) an email from Google, telling me they're stuffing their "A.I." slop into any device I have that uses Gmail.

What I haven't had is any way of opting out of this #enshittification

I keep seeing people saying "Brexit was a 𝗺𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗸𝗲".

I think you mean the direct result of a conspiracy by billionaires who wanted to weaken the EU, and open up the UK to exploitation, including forcing private health care on us, with some assistance from Russia.

Have people really forgotten Tice visiting the billionaires, and then bragging "We're going to take the UK out of the EU"?

It was a scam, a fraud, a crime, not just a 𝗺𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗸𝗲.

More requests for recommendations for tradespeople. I've a rake of Leylandii to come down, I hate them and the previous owners had multiple large ones in the garden, blocking everyone's light.
Ideally throw some bareroot natives in as soon as the Leylandii are gone.
