The first editions of the Fontana Books of Great Ghost Stories had marvellously spectral visions summoned up by the great Alan Lee #PhantomsFriday

It's said a child's #ghost haunts the guest rooms of Argylle & Bute's Drovers Inn where they've reported feeling an icy form drip water on their bed at night. Local lore says a girl drowned trying to fish her doll out of the nearby river & wanders in search of her missing toy. #PhantomsFriday

It's 1913 on a foggy night when a phantom suddenly looms up in front of a train. The driver slams on the brakes, then finds the line is blocked. Miraculously saved, perhaps. But this was no angelic intervention. A large moth on the front lamp had cast its haloed shadow onto the mist. #PhantomsFriday

Another of Wales's haunted locations: the Pontcysyllte Aqueduct. 127ft high, it is one of Thomas Telford's masterpieces, completed in 1805. But according to #legend its construction was plagued by fatal accidents and workmen who lost their lives building it now haunt it. #PhantomsFriday #folklore
