Something I enjoy slipping into conversations is the phrase "het up", but applied not generally to someone becoming agitated but specifically to straight people getting agitated about anything queer.
"Brian got het up about our pronouns."
"They all got het up about equal marriage."
"Conservatives are getting het up about pride flags."
It just works so well.
