This flagrant abuse of #statistics, which is especially insidious in the hands of purportedly "moderate" or "heterodox" bigots such as Jesse Singal and Matthew Yglesias and Bill Maher, amounts to a form of numerology, i.e. the irrational application of mathematics and numbers.

One can see numerous examples of such racist and bigoted employment of statistics in the discourse which swirls around prominent bigots on social media, e.g. Matt Walsh or #JKRowling. They cite such trash as U.S. police statistics as though arrest records were infallible and objective documents, and they simply ignore or ridicule any attempt to raise the issue of systemic bias in the numbers.

While the publicity around #JKRowling isn't the best at the moment quite rightly, it is undoubted what she has created in terms of #HarryPotter. Once you are in #Edinburgh and manage to see #TheRoyalMile and if you're a #Potterhead (and even if you're not), this place at the #CityChambers shows the hands of JK Rowling immortalized in the ground of the city Harry's world was created in.

You'll find this place when walking through the entrance, turning left towards a small door!
