Seriously, I mean, it is such a gift to have it. The fact that I can download all software I need from the internet, for free, legally, to make my computer work - and it’s arguably as good or better for the most part on the desktop than any commercial option - is nothing short of a miracle in this age of surveillance and enshittification.

I guess what bothers me most about 2026-era macro economics is how shameless it all is. The wealthy are siphoning the world's entire economic surplus into a harebrained attempt to replace workers with data centers, and they've captured society so thoroughly that we're just letting them. @drahardja Anytime legislators use 'for the children' as a justification, it's time to ask them what else they've done 'for the children.' Have they provided healthcare? Made access to education easier? Fed families? Provided anything, anything at all, to reduce the impact of poverty or neglect on children?

If the answer is 'no,' then they are full of shit and can fuck right off.
