Within the space of 10 messages, someone replying to a YouTube comment I made in favor of the most basic of human rights for Palestinians went from demanding I consider the human cost of saying I support an end to the occupation, to insinuating that Israel's bombing of hospitals and refugee camps is perfectly fine and can't be criticised without suggesting a better strategy for defeating Hamas.

I'll admit it, I didn't think #lemmy could replace #reddit, but that all changed yesterday when I had a fruitless argument with a reply guy who tone policed me, said I was wrong, misrepresented any arguments I made to clarify my position, then accused me of commiting a personal attack on them for defending myself in an argument they started. Yay!
