16 February 1926 | A German Jewish girl, Margot Frank, Anne's older sister, was born in Frankfurt.

She and her family left Germany to the Netherlands. In 1942 the family went into hiding in Amsterdam. After being arrested in the fall of 1944, the sisters together with their parents - Otto & Edith - were deported to Auschwitz.

All of them were registered in the camp. Edith Frank perished in Auschwitz. Margot & Anne died in Bergen-Belsen in February 1945 because of typhus. Only Otto survived.
