'The Joke'

Satire flatters, by omission -
brightens, like a winter sunrise,
without feeling the frost below.

I can stand in the light
with a slender jut
of hip and lilt, an accent
undefined; the better

to exaggerate and complicate
our joint deja vu of last summer,
the joke that it was,
when we used to laugh
so differently and freely
together.

@wordsmith @Mizliot @albertsemple I have been wondering whether to migrate my account to the writing exchange lately.

When I joined Mastodon in April, I had not heard of it, so I am on the .online instance. Is there a backlog in acceptance time for new applicants?

I almost never retweet on the other app, because I prefer to post original content most of the time.

However, I can see how boosting works so well on Mastodon, so I think I will start by doing so with the interesting #introduction profiles I see.
