Don't be silly. The coup is ongoing
Hey I'm Alicia, an artist who really hasn't been feeling social media lately (especially IG and FB) so I thought I'd try Mastodon out and see if I like the simplicity of it more. I think I picked the perfect server, since I'm much more likely to be in my sunny garden than anywhere else.

My interests include
#art #fiberart #wool #dyeing #watercolor #flowarts #music #gardening #cats #dogs #reptiles #languagelearning #writing #reading and #mandala making.
I have a family business called Fibre2Fabric where we dye all sorts of fibre, yarn, and fabric and I want to get into #upcycling clothes some more!
Hope I get to meet some cool people the algorithm would drown out on other apps.
Last night as I was putting the kid to bed, he hit me with a question: "have you always been my dad?"
"Of course, I'm still the same person."
"Except now you're a girl?"
"I've always been a girl, I just didn't always know it. Don't think of it like I was a guy who became a girl. Think of it like I was a girl who wore a guy outside her like a shell. I was always me inside, even though everyone else saw him until I broke out of the shell."
"What happened to him when you broke the shell?"
omg kid it's 9pm can you just go to sleep?
"He never really existed. When I broke out of the shell, he was gone. Disappeared in a puff of smoke."
"Okay, good night."
If you "can't explain it to your kids," that's because you don't understand it, not because they can't understand it.
If you have a hard time wrapping your head around "this whole transgender thing," that's a learned behavior.
It can be unlearned. Try to be as emotionally intelligent as my nine year old kid, it'll do you a world of good.
