Just saw a video in which some dude was complaining that the archery in the scene in The Hobbit where Bard kills Smaug wasn’t realistic. In the movie about hobbits and dwarves and orcs and wizards and a dragon. The archery wasn’t realistic enough.

That’s enough internet for me tonight.

You may wonder why fascism runs in cycles of about three generations. It's because people lose the memory of what living under fascism was like, or the destruction it caused.

First they regret.
Then they forget.

obviously I have my own issues but I am glad none of them are:

1. desiring expensive electronic devices to do a social status signal

2. desiring an expensive address to do a social status signal

3. consuming what is popular because it is popular as part of retaining a social standing, regardless of whether I like the popular thing or not
