I have disconnected my battery from the internet. While the real-time data is nice, I prefer a system that doesn't get enshittified by an update. This is exactly what "smart" applications are all about, and with cyberspace everting, enshittification has extented to the real world.

I can agree on one thing you say - there is greed in government. But denying the greed of capitalists is, err, denial. Government is captured by corporations, so they are working for them. Bruce Jesson got it right when he said: The National Party governs for capitalists. The Labour Party for capitalism. One is just a greedy party looking out for their friends, the other is maintaining the rigged system.
