I finished my new work bag. This was a hard make for me because I used a pattern from an old book, and I have limited experience with bag making. I'm glad to have a non-plastic washable bag. The process of making a bag always clarifies what I think would make a better bag, so I immediately want to make another one. No time, though, I have other sewing commitments to get to. Next up: a couch pillow in certain dimensions that my family has been asking for.

I started this door quilt for Mom's apartment last January, but I'm taking credit for an on-time #ValentinesDay finish anyway! I made two different quilted panels (mission creep), and tied them together with embroidery floss, before binding everything together. We'll flip it over next week to reveal the other side. #quilting #quilts

First of two zippers arrived. It’s the largest and while the size is would be awesome, I’m not sure black is the way I want to go

I’ve got a second, thinner zipper on the way. It’s red with silver aluminum teeth. I feel like it’s more appropriate for the feel I want from this piece when the lips are zipped

Could be a week before it gets here unfortunately

Today's sewing will be alterations and mending. I need to take in the waist of my trousers, which means hand-sewing through multiple layers of denim or corduroy, so now I'm bleeding on my nightie. But when I've altered one pair of cords I'll get dressed and move on to mending a child's t-shirt. #sewing #mending
