Did you know? Every year, the Supreme Court’s nine justices fill out a form that discloses their financial connections to companies and people.
Our database allows you to search for organizations and people that have paid them, reimbursed them for travel and given them gifts.

On my way to #39c3 with my longtime traveling companion, Large Bag. I’ll be talking about making my own #crossStitch software on Day 4 (the 30th) at 11AM CET in Zero ( https://events.ccc.de/congress/2025/hub/en/event/detail/i-hated-all-the-cross-stitch-software-so-i-made-my-own-my-deranged-outsider-software-suite-for-making-deranged-outsider-art ) - please come by if your schedule/hangover allows :)
(edited to correct the location to a way bigger and scarier room 🙀)

Designing cross-stitch patterns, I got frustrated with all the programs which expected me to click around a canvas setting individual pixels. I wanted a cross-stitch design software suite that I could drive with a Makefile, which could give me an ...

Karoline Leavitt’s White House briefings aren’t just spin – they reflect what George Orwell warned about: lies divorced from reality, and the use of “doublethink” to have a word (like “transparency”) mean just the opposite. A historian who studies Orwell explains:
So, I hurt my back bending over to pick something up. They sent me to get a CT scan, and discovered what might be a compression fracture. The spine doctor says it's not likely a fracture and sent me to physical therapy for a few weeks. "Any pain?" they ask? Yes, but not my back. It hurts when my xiphoid process touches the floor when I do these press-ups. So my primary caregiver orders an X-ray of that area, front and side. My xiphoid process juts out like a letter "J". But the radiologist sees something concerning around the left hilar area (where your windpipe splits into two). Since I have had cancer before (Hodgkin's lymphoma — thirteen years in remission), they want to do a PET/CT with 18-fluorodeoxyglucose to see if anything is using a lot of energy (like taking infrared photos of houses to see who's got the cannabis grow operation). The doc reviewing the scan has no online of my history and thinks I'm likely to have malignant lung cancer that has metastasized to my lymph nodes. I'm unconvinced. I'm sent to a pulmonologist, who recommends an EBUS (endo-bronchial ultrasound) in which they'll sense the best spots to get biopsy samples. They got seven. The immediate opinion was that it did NOT look at all like lung cancer, but the mass around that region was compressing my airway. The biopsy results yesterday indicate that yes, as I suspected, my cancer is making a comeback. The good news is that it's still very easily treatable (with newer drugs, too!), and my relaxed attitude about the whole thing helps to reassure my family and friends (and caregivers) that this isn't a catastrophe, and I'll survive this one, too.

On 9/23/25, D49 voted to ban #trans students + staff from using school restrooms, and #Texas Governor Greg Abbott signed a similar bathroom ban for trans people in school and government buildings statewide.
I spoke against this at D49's meeting 10/9/25. #lgbtq 🌈✊ #ColoradoSprings
