Desert pea season up north!
#Silentsunday #Australia

If your book club is #Reading my book 'Drystone – A Life Rebuilt', I’d be glad to join you for an hour’s Q&A, online or in person (if hyperlocal). No fee, just a chance to talk about the book and your questions.

It’s always interesting to hear how 'Drystone' lands in different lives, and I’d love to be part of those conversations.

If this is something that would work for your club, drop me a message/email.

Sometimes I have lots of words to say what I feel and other times not so many.
I've been coming here to express myself for long enough now that it has become a habit.
Not a pesky bad habit but a good one. The kind you look forward to. Even when the bad news of the world takes over the conversation it can turn back on a dime with good advice to help me temper that side of Mastodon.
Today I bought really safe bike helmets for my family because someone here provided a list of the safest options.
Summer gets better care because experienced dog owners have given freely their expertise to this first time dog mom.
The thing is that someone here has already done everything I'm trying to do.
It's like being connected to the kind of friends that are always described as willing to give the shirt off their back but virtually.
Just saying that there is so much more positive than not here and I am genuinely appreciative.
To start your day, a celebration of river wildlife in Hertford UK knitted by locals and covering all the bollards. Fabulous!
*US CUSTOMERS*, TARIFFS expect you’ve seen in other peoples post that the Us government is putting tarrifs of $88 on a large letter or parcel…. This will last six months. Hopefully Royal Mail here are working on a solution where the vendor pays the tariff 10% for you so it goes through your customs ok, I don’t know whether this will be available before I post my calendars at the end of next month. I’m hoping it will be. I’m pausing all US orders until the pre tariff paid option is available.

S09EP08 - The Holiday (Bonus) - The Family Histories Podcast

Accidentally arriving in a muddy 1640's Essex, host Andrew Martin is accused of witchcraft. Can he persuade them to let him go home?

Good morning! It’s publication day for Frankly, the eagerly anticipated autobiography of @nicolasturgeon - renowned book lover, MSP and former First Minister. We have a stock of signed copies but be quick as these will fly off the shelves!
To avoid some of the #BankHoliday scramble, maybe settle for local walk if in #WestYorkshire. This from Pool-in-Wharfedale is an easy ramble in lower Wharfedale. Attractive views , including to Almscliffe Crag & impressive Arthington Railway Viaduct. See https://www.happyhiker.co.uk/MyWalks/WestYorkshire/Pool-in-WharfedaletoLeathley/Hiking%20Pages%20-%20Pool%20in%20Wharfedale%20to%20Leathley.htm
Just finishing the book “Forgotten Churches: Exploring England’s Hidden Treasures” by Luke Sherlock. A quite magical book, a mix of architecture, travel and history. Also exploration of place. With evocative illustrations throughout from Ioana Pioaru. Thoroughly recommended. #Books #Bookstodon #reading #architecture #history #travel #art #churches #England

Does anyone have suggestions for a decent, privacy focused, email provider with full calendar support (no gmail, ms or some such)? Right now I'm on Runbox, and the calendar support is a total mess (or non-existent if you will).

I would like to be able to send and receive both emails and calendar invitations from my email client (Thunderbird), so proton and tutamail are off the table.

The Three Towers: Kelvingrove Art Gallery against this evening's rather ominous sky in Glasgow.

Kelvingrove never ever fails to impress! I remember my first visit, what grabbed my attention were the hanging skulls! "Keep Glasgow Weird!!!"
