A flashback to last weekend's unanticipated snowfall here in Glasgow. It only lasted about half an hour, but it was intense while it lasted. This was the scene outside Kelvingrove Art Gallery as people hurried to take cover inside. Being free, Glasgow's art galleries and museums are a great refuge for locals and visitors alike when the weather takes an unexpected turn (which does happen rather a lot!).

There was some beautiful light on the towers and turrets of the Kelvingrove Art Galley this evening just for a few minutes before the sun dropped below the horizon.

The Vital Spark by George Wyllie in the grounds of Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum in Glasgow. A reminder of the days of Clyde Puffers and Neil Munro's Para Handy books. Unfortuantely it seems to have lost its plaque at some point in the last couple of years.

I don't think I'll ever tire of this view of the Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum in the West End of Glasgow, with the tip of the University tower just sneaking into the mix.

I love this little owl which stands guard on the handrails of one of the staircases in Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum in Glasgow. It always reminds me of Bubo from the 1981 film the Clash of the Titans.

The glorious Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum in the West End of Glasgow. Designed by J.W. Simpson and Milner Allen, it was completed in 1901. This means next year (2026) will make the 125 anniversary of its opening as part of that year's Glasgow International Exhibition.

Religion by Johan Keller on the north-east corner of the 1901 Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum on the West End of Glasgow. This is one of a series of eight sculptures around this building. The others represent Music, Architecture, Sculpture Painting, Commerce, Literature and Science. Interestingly, this last one is place on the diametrically opposite corner to this one.
