My son's former girlfriend reached out to me today. I hear from his friends periodically. I figured they might drift away as time goes by. He has been gone almost ten years now, and they haven't.
I think because his friends would ask him for advice, or if they needed help, he would often say he would ask his mom. Especially if the ask was beyond him. He was a really good friend to his friends.
Now, I occasionally get questions sometimes framed as what I think my son would've said.
Now, I can offer Summer. I say she does her best to give good advice. So far it's working.
Now, is a hard time for young people to know where to turn.
Summer is as good a choice as many and she is free. Sometimes she advises them to turn to a professional. Sometimes it's an easy fix. If we can help we do.
I might get her a shingle to hang out in front.

Goodness knows what I am ever going to do with the gazillion baked goodies I will cook between now and when the stress level drops in the US.
Today felt like homemade cinnamon poptarts.
I made a small batch so there is one each for my daughter's family of six.
They do smell really good.
They also generate a huge mess in the kitchen for six small pastries.
Was fun though.

It was noticed that we were getting low on snacks.
Nary a cookie in the freezer.
It seemed like the best course of action was to ignore everything else on the chore list and start baking cookies.
Chocolate chip and oatmeal are considered health food at our house.
All that healthy oatmeal floating in butter, brown sugar, and chocolate. Fiber galore.
Finished just in time to clean up and to stir up some stir fry for dinner.

Summer says her cow is in fine fettle this morning.
I'm glad the stitches held.
I woke up early and almost jumped up to take Summer for an early walk, but I was the only one awake. Instead I turned over and ended up sleeping two more hours.
I didn't see that coming.
I must have been tired.
Today, I am scheduled to go on a walk with my long time trainer. It is probably good that I saved some steps. Hopefully, she will offer some advice for getting my shoulder loosened up. Maybe it's time to hire her to help me get fit again. The last two years of caregiving have taken a toll.
Summer says today is going to be a good day. I hope she's right.

I see that he will be in Oregon for a show and I am sad that it is too far away for me to attend. I am happy to see he is getting out and about again. It has been awhile.
My collection of his art is a treasure.
