Mango Watch: 12/10/2022

Hurricane Ian ravaged my wonderful, about 8-year-old mango tree, which previously had a big canopy that I was always struggling with a pole saw to keep away from the overhead electrical lines. Long story short, Ian reduced this once large tree to a stump. But nature is so awesome! Ian was 9/23/2022 and now, a few months later, my mango has worked so hard and is making a comeback!

Nature is amazing, babies! This is my once large, about 7-1/2-year-old mango tree, snapped like a twig by Hurricane Ian. Ian reduced it to a stump, but now, just over two months later: the great comeback is in progress!

First photo here of 1 of my 4 dear furkids. This is little (well, not so little) Zuzu, communing with her friend the mango "tree" (once & future--in this shot, if you zoom in, you can see many of the little shoots the stump is putting out, to rejuvenate itself after being ravaged by Hurricane Ian). I believe she is encouraging it. When it was a big tree, she would use it as a scratching post, & now she is returning the favor & giving it some cat Reiki.
