My theory is that it is possible to make real good money by owning Twitter. But it will be only through real evil shit. Through monetizing misinformation. Selling private data and spreading political propaganda algorithmically is a cash cow and people would pay a lot for it around the world.

This is what I thought Elon wanted to do. As a result I was/am terrified. To put my worry in perspective, I am more terrified of this possibility than a second trump term.

All,

The moment has finally arrived! 🥳

@McCullohMD
and I have been hard at work for the past week putting together a Mastodon instance so that we can create a backup disability and chronic illness community.

It can be found here:

https://disabled.social

For now, we have set up a terms of service, privacy policy, rules and best practices.

I have plans to set up a Twitter space to go through each of these with the disability community directly to add/subtract/reword things.

disabled.social

A place for people who are chronically ill, mentally ill, disabled, and friends/families/allies to come together, meet, share knowledge and random banter, and just about anything else.

The rate of change continues to accelerate, and many people continue to think that change will not happen.

Tomorrow is rapidly approaching.

From #NewZealand, a look at the many benefits of a proposal to cut the speed limit in #cities - not just reduced deaths, but less pollution, less driving and less carbon emissions https://theconversation.com/lower-speed-limits-dont-just-save-lives-they-make-nz-towns-and-cities-better-places-to-live-194448 #News
Lower speed limits don’t just save lives – they make NZ towns and cities better places to live

Despite claims that lowering speed limits will harm the economy, evidence suggests journey times are hardly affected. And beyond reducing the road toll, there are health and climate benefits, too.

Throughout the pandemic, Donate a Mask Canada have been providing free n95s to people in need. They do this as a volunteer-run charity without any governmental funding. They are struggling financially to meet demand so I’ve been sharing their fundraiser around. Any donations would help, as would sharing across platforms. https://gofund.me/7edbf407
You can also support them by buying masks & CO2 meters from their shop: https://donatemask.ca/store

@laracroft @dustytravelsoz all this time I've been ranting about how RATs cannot be relied upon. You don't hear much about PCRs throwing a false negative result... Had sore throat Wed, did PCR, was negative. Told 2day (Fri) dying relative I saw Mon is Covid+ 💔 Did RAT (still have sore throat): very faint line appeared. Waiting on PCR to confirm. Took my N95 off for a few min as she didn't recognise me & now (for first time!) I have Covid. Masks (Respirators) do work 😷😔

Where are all the other McMaster advocates not providing quotes for this piece? You know, the very loud ones we’ve gotten used to?
