Beer Dragon

This cheeky dragon jumped in before anyone could take a first sip! These mischievous dragons are sure to mess up any gaming or gathering with friends! This one was an absolute blast to draw. Become a Patron to see the whole month-long story!

Throwback art!

My master's thesis was on sheep grazing. I used my picture of those sheep for my Scientific Illustration course's final. It's a final of a final! I did this all in carbon dust with highlights in eraser and darks in carbon pencil. It's one of my favorites!

Dice Bag Dragon

It's so hard to get the dice you need to make a roll when a dragon decides that it is the perfect place to nap. Do you move it? Or do you let it sleep and borrow your friend's dice to make your roll?

Become a Patron to find out why the shadows look a little cropped and there is no signature. It's a tale of struggle, joy, patience, and parenting a little gremlin.

Throwback Audubon Art

Throwback art! This is another time of copying the masters. This one I did to practice painting and copied Audubon. I loved doing this one a lot!

Hello! I am a scientific illustrator, but I also love to do any animal that strikes inspiration - including the fantastical. I have an animal science background from Montana State, but then found art was also my passion. I combined my interests with a Sci ILL certificate at the University of Washington. I am in the process of moving my career towards wildlife conservation and education. In the mean time I will post all my new and previous art here weekly. Thank you!
First up is the Morpho Butterfly! I was lucky to see them at a local butterfly habitat. They are unremarkable brown with wings up, and then flash a brilliant blue in flight. Truly amazing. I did this artwork digitally, but it would be fun to redo it sometime with pastels or paints.
