Spoke to a new (for me) doctor yesterday and had a lengthy (for the NHS!) chat about the microbiome. As well as the things I'm doing already, she suggested "playing in the dirt" and perhaps was surprised by my receptiveness to that idea! She suggested going to the least forested/managed natural area I can access and just interacting with nature there. She also suggested interacting with dogs - so my neighbour is going to lend us her dog more often. Go on, the #microbiome!
Any teachers in Scotland or the rest of the UK on this platform? We’d love to connect if so!
We provide resources and services for schools to help them address homophobia, biphobia, and transphobia through teaching and learning.
This includes workshops for learners, CPD for teachers, and a whole host of teaching resources covering themes including LGBT history, role models, and rights.

Hello folks, I've seen another instance I'm interested in joining (disabled Mastodon! Cool!) and I've heard that joining more than one server can be good/ok. But I still don't get it. Do you then have two separate accounts (with separate toots, separate followers, etc)? That sounds a bit fragmented to me 🤔
Any advice or links (or musings) very welcome.
Thanks @MetteAnwarWestander for alerting me to this other server

Doing a UI course. Today: mocking up an app design. I'm learning that UI (on its own) does not fire me up - it's fascinating but I am finding it v impersonal - it's just me and the software and the principles. In order to feel motivated, I need to do something more directly to do with *people*.
(For some reason, it's different with coding...I actually enjoy being alone with code. Odd!)
But...maybe I'm just in a v artificial student situation. Maybe real UI does feel more connected to humans.

Favourite tea: Roibosch Earl Grey with Cashew Nut Milk (uhuh!)
Favourite place: A certain little town on the west coast of Ireland, famous for its swimming spots.
Favourite fictional character: Harriet the Spy (from the book. Ignore any movies/tv versions, they are nonsense.)
