Let's hope so...

As an aside, it seems the UK Labour government is still trying to cut support to those who need it (per morning interview with Pat MacFadden). They're just squirming to find 'palatable' ways to achieve cuts.

All part of achieving an environment that demonises the vulnerable.

(And yes, I know that doesn't include all autistic people, it's just I have a family member who will probably never be in employment.)

@benjamincox

I have a disabled family member who could not possibly work, who lives in a constant state of anxiety, if not terror, of losing their only meagre income.

It makes me furious. I hate feeling so helpless, but short of winning the lottery, there's not much I can do.

Stop Automated Racism

Amnesty International UK found out that 3/4 of police forces across the UK are using technology to try to “predict crime”, but it is having racist and discriminatory impacts. Almost no one knows about it. Learn more:

Disability benefits such as PIP are actually good for the economy, economists say

Disability benefits have a positive impact on people's wellbeing which outweighs the cost of administering them, economists have found.

Big Issue

This is vitally important. There's no time to waste. Huge corporations are allowed to get away with tax avoidance/evasion but Labour are continuing the 'Tory 'scrounger' tropes, targeting the vulnerable. You could be next!

They're trying to sneak legislation through whilst drawing attention elsewhere.

Whether or not you're a member of the Labour party (I'm not), please consider signing this petition. In the light of Wes Streeting's awful decision yesterday on puberty blockers, it's more important than ever to send a message that what the government is doing is not OK.

Open Letter to the Health Secretary

We're appalled that Wes Streeting plans to continue the Tories' ideological ban on puberty blockers. This move is not in the best interests of young trans people, and we will need the full unity of the labour movement to stop this. Please show our strength in numbers by signing the below letter. In solidarity, Labour for Trans Rights

Sorry, an *ethnic minority*? I really don't think you can become an ethnic minority by taking up a hobby. No matter how offended your privilege is at being stopped from doing the hobby.
