If you've got a start-up or growth venture and you are looking to fill a leadership position, let's talk!

Lover or classic rock, dad jokes, and Archer.

OK just to see if I’ve got this:

Mango Mussolini’s uncle talked to him about having taught the Unabomber as a student at MIT, even though the killer never attended MIT, and the uncle died a decade before the Unabomber was ever identified.

The #press needs to either start demanding answers about Red Don’s progressive #dementia, or apologize to the country for its breathless coverage of Biden’s subpar debate performance. Or both.

On his very worst day, #Biden was a better president, and is (and always has been) a better human being, than 47 on his best day.

It took civilization thousands of years to build the global and broadly successful #economy that we enjoyed right up until 9:00EDT tonight.

It took 🍊🤡 about 2.5 months to destroy it.

So congratulations #Republicans on bringing forth the largest (and perhaps most #regressive) #tax increase in the nation’s history. America’s #billionaires thank you for your support.

My analysis of tonight's #Lakers loss to the #Warriors:

I saw little evidence that the Lakers coaching staff have any offensive strategy whatsoever. This impression was reinforced by the clip of Darvin Ham in the huddle telling his team "if you have a shot, take it". 🙄🤦🏼‍♂️ This advice immediately produced a series of rushed shots and turnovers. Truly inspiring, coach.

Also: not sure what we're supposed to make of the Golden State coaching staff in what appear to be matching blue rompers.

@ffScala Thanks, I will. . . once it's out of beta.

So I've been using #Ivory for a few months. It's nice, and in most ways a better mobile client than any of the others I tried.

I still feel, though, that they're all more or less refinements of the same experience. Sure, #Mastodon is what it is; but I'd love to see some really creative thinking about the client-side experience. #UX

Today's interesting thought, by @stevenlevy at @Wired. In his "Plaintext" column, Levy discusses the use of generative #AI to write #news copy. He asks: “Will news sources respond to an interview request from GPT-7?”

I'd guess many of those sources will have their own AIs to answer those questions.

Dear #OpenAI—even #ChatGPT 4 agrees with me: please let us download transcripts!
#SVB is a huge failure by any standard. But the largest bank failure in US history is still my former employer, Washington Mutual. #Whoohoo #WaMu

Am I the first to observe that #Fiverr is a train wreck for sellers? In the signup process, the seller has minimal choice in what information they must to provide. Nearly every field is "required"—and if the seller skips the ones that aren't, at the end of the process they are STILL not allowed to proceed because they are required to complete "at least 65%" of the requested data.

Among other issues, this compulsory oversharing enables #ageism.

New by me @washingtonpost:

"That's a great Facebook account you've got there. It'd be a shame if something happened to it."

Facebook & Twitter asking us to pay for basic account security & service reminds me of a mob protection racket.

Shame on this $$$ grab: https://wapo.st/3xOJucE

Facebook’s new $12 fee is straight out of Don Corleone’s playbook

Big Tech’s new business model is making you pay for security and basic customer service. That’s called a protection racket when mobsters do it.
