I have worked for a very big dictionary for a very long time. When I'm not doing that I'm walking the dog, despairing of UK politics, and attempting a more eco-friendly lifestyle. Often all at once. Hoping to pop on here a bit more often.

Congress is once again pushing dangerous website-blocking laws, including the Foreign Anti-Digital Piracy Act (FADPA). These bills would let copyright holders get court orders to block entire websites, without due process, based on nothing but a hollow promise not to abuse their new power.

Utter hogwash by Jenrick. Nobody is risking their life crossing the channel to get stuck in a crappy hotel. His whole ten point plan is purely blaming asylum seekers for years of government underfunding and under-resourcing of the asylum system. For a fraction of the £150million Rwanda deal the government could be processing far more applications, bringing the asylum backlog down, and allowing people to live their lives in safety.

@gem_abbott we're going to join the #nationaltrust. We haven't previously because of concerns about hunting, but I think its time to raise issues like these from the inside. Better us than the Tufton St groups
