@timbray I might be entirely misremembering, but I vaguely recall gcore being the Wargaming infrastructure spun off into a separate company. I was only very tangentially involved with the live infrastructure at the time so it's very possible I'm incorrectly recalling or was misinformed at the time.

The public history is super vague but the timing lines up (2014 is around when a spinoff would've started), the Wikipedia article notes that they were originally focused on gaming, and Wargaming was heavily involved in their first round of external funding. 🤷

@timbray ovh builds it's own water cooled servers (very cool) . Wasn't this open Telekom cloud thingy Huawei tech? I think I saw something in the past... Hetzner is pretty solid imo.
