Married, mum, step mum, grandma, care about society, I'm #WOKE, worried about the state of the UK, not so creeping #facism, #poverty, #inequality and #globalwarming among others. Retired social worker, care about children and young people, safeguarding, their wellbeing and rights.
This wandered into my consciousness from somewhere on the internet this morning - so I thought I’d share it.
Disabled children can’t afford to use their ventilators this winter. Politicians need to face reality

It’s not fearmongering to suggest that in the absence of proper state support this winter, people are going to die, says Guardian columnist Frances Ryan

Hi. It would help me a lot if I could get a HEAP of responses to this poll. The goal is to get a decent enough sample so results are predictive of the wider user-base right now. I dislike asking for boosts but this is SCIENCE... or something. (Thanks.)

How do you use Mastodon MOST of the time?

On a phone, or other touch screen device?

OR

On a device with a keyboard like a laptop or desktop computer?

1/ It may not be easy but a clear and realisable plan will speed the process. A counsel of despair will slow it down.

I echo Lord Heseltine’s words today

“ I do not accept that Brexit is irreversible.

The timescale may be unpredictable. The purpose is not.

We must start by rebuilding bridges. “

There are too many moving parts to predict whether it will be a long, brutal process or shorter, smoother & quicker.

Like Michael Heseltine, I do not accept that Brexit is irreversible.

'We must start by rebuilding bridges.

We need a practical compromise over the Irish border that would restore devolved government. We need to end the isolation of our scientists and researchers by re-joining the Horizon Europe research and innovation programme. We should restore the right for our young people to participate in projects abroad under the EU’s Erasmus Plus programme.'

The poverty premium embedded in pre-payment meters - where the most financially vulnerable pay the highest prices for energy - is wrong in principle.

What's more we think, often, the pre-conditions for installing a PPM are ignored by energy companies. https://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/good-law-project-simon-francis-ofgem-government-b2234879.html
