An investgation covering 19 US cities -- including Seattle and Portland -- found that CenturyLink, Verizon, AT&T, and EarthLink routinely offer slow internet speeds to poorer neighborhoods for the same price as they offer higher speeds in other areas.

In two-thirds of the cities where there was sufficient data to compare, the worst deals were offered to the least-white neighborhoods, aligning with former redlining boundaries.

A friend of mine got laid off yesterday. Two days before Christmas. Nice job, jerks.

Well, if your new year plans involve hiring a remote team member or contractor to work with Azure, SharePoint, Office 365, Dotnet or related DevOps work, hit me up. UK based but they're happy to work international hours, esp east coast

Boosts appreciated!

Except for friends and family I know, I receive more warm Christmas wishes from my Jewish, Muslim and agnostic acquaintances on Twitter than I do from conservative Christians.

Thank you to @MsKellyMHayes for recommending spore 🙏

Blocked my first person on Mastodon - a lapsed Catholic & self described atheist that was trying to debate Christian theology on a thread about Christian excesses by a Rabbi. Even after saying I wasn't going to debate it on the Rabbi's thread, he/she/they persisted with numerous "proof texts" I was told to "explain or admit" that Christianity was wrong, with conditions on what I was allowed to say.

I may simply refrain from discussion here, and limit myself to just reading.

It’s #FollowFriday so I hope folks utilize the hashtag to find my account here!
Give me a boost! Maybe if I can show some of the big accounts on Twitter that it’s possible to grow sizably and quickly here, too, they’ll migrate over!

It’s good to see engagement and use growing here. It would be healthy to have a social platform free of the billionaire oligopoly and the corporate ad folks, don’t you think?
