Living with a person with #dementia is harder than I ever imagined. People say it's like living with a child, which is true to some degree, but that child knows they are an adult & knows when you're patronising them. And imagine you show that child how to do something they've done a hundred times before but they have forgotten again by the next day and the next. And imagine that child keeps forgetting where the bathroom is or how to open a door... That's just part of living with dementia.

It seems the polite thing to do here on Mastodon is to offer an #introduction post.

I’m a former radio presenter and #voicover (still do the occasional recording), now an #audioproducer and writer. I also have a sideline selling #vintage costume jewellery and knick knacks.

For 4 years pre-lockdown I was #travelling and #housesitting / #petsitting but now live with my mum who has #dementia. Love animals and have an adopted ginger tabby called Nala.
