In the wake of the #ColoradoSprings shooting, I started this day off despondent, rageful.

I’m still those things. But I also want to say this to our #lgbtq families, friends & communities: You are loved. So very much.

We will keep fighting for our safety. ❤️🌈

Let me introduce myself - I’m a former pattern maker who lived in Paris, London & Amsterdam working in the fashion industry for 23 years, now in Dublin focusing on my own writing & celebrating others; a solo party isn’t a successful party.
I’m the author of the chapbook Eat the Storms, a Stickleback, In the Jitterfritz of Neon co-written with Eilín de Paor & a full collection Enough! from Hedgehog Press.
I’m host/producer of Eat the Storms poetry podcast & editor-in-chief of The Storms journal
The poetry group I belong to met to talk about getting poetry published in the UK. I blogged some notes about what we said and places we recently successfully submitted to https://josephinecorcoran.org/2022/11/20/on-getting-poems-published/ #PoetryPublishing #GettingPublished #Poetry
On getting poems published

@alboss Hi Al! Any Mastodon tips? Do you think the server you’re on matters much?
Me: What kind of pie do you like?
My 8yo son: Lil Debbie oatmeal cream pie
Me: Okay but that's the wrong kind of pie
Him: The radius of a circle
Me: I MEANT FOR THANKSGIVING

Making a list of those using the hashtag #twitterrefugee for my own edification. Amazed by how many are white, highly-educated, and clearly clueless about the most oppressed group of humans on the planet.

No more refugee cosplay. Seriously. It is sickening and cruel. Please stop.

life is so weird i’m glad we get to share it, at least this little teeny tiny sliver of it. maybe that can be enough?
@lacouvee @sagetyrtle @aabboreno @eldris do you know how much it matters on #Mastodon if we choose to pluralize or not with #hashtags? i mean: do we need to figure out if more people are using #LitMag or #LitMags and stick with it? and: trying to do our small part to use #CamelCase hashtage for #ScreenReaders accessibility. since some devices try to turn hashtags all lowercase, it can take a little remembering. :)

I set up some groups I hope will be useful for our #WritingCommunity:

@virtualreadings - post notices about your virtual #literary #reading events so we can boost and attend.

@litsubmissions - post your #LitMag #submission calls so we can boost and submit.

Follow the group to get its posts. Tag the group in a post to share it with the group. Note: these groups are not moderated.

Please boost!

Trampset is open until next Friday (11/25) for an issue guest-edited by Monica Wang. They're a fantastic journal (and I have a 🐠 fishy piece 🐠 forthcoming there in January!), and they pay $25 per accepted piece!

They say they're closing for a while after the 11/25 deadline, so get it before that happens—free subs for prose up to 3,000 words and poetry. Simultaneous subs OK!
