Kept sane by crochet, cross stitch, embroidery, books and tea with some forays into knitting, sewing and photo restoration. Pronouns she/her.
First attempt to bake something for a while. Required much assistance from mum and am not sure I will be moving much for a few days but so far #homemade #stollen bites are worth the increased pain (may change my mind tomorrow) #ChristmasBaking #spoonie
Starting to put away some bits ready for the Christmas decs to come out and realised I hadn’t managed to get any pics of my latest #CrossStitch pieces. Have really enjoyed making the animal magic series from the cross stitcher mag, can’t wait to get started on the wolf pattern in the new year to finish the set
Happy #caturday everyone. It is hard to believe that this time last year Purl was a tiny ball of fluff who had only just arrived to live with us and was nervously exploring her new home.
Downside of #HandmadeChristmas gifts is that, whilst I have finally finished a #crochet make that has been driving me crazy ( I have ended up rewriting the pattern completely), I can't share it. Not being able to share what I am making might be one of the most annoying part of #Christmas. So here is a cardigan that I made a couple years ago (and still live in) instead just because I am in a crochet mood and being on a new platform it feels like a good excuse to revisit a few of my favourites.
Feeling broken after yesterday’s outing, my body does not approve of being out that long and is letting me know it today. Purl was not impressed either and is not leaving my side, she has now decided that I am to be her bed for the day and I am not permitted to even think about moving #catsofmastodon
Today didn’t exactly go to plan (unexpected 3 hours in ikea car park waiting for breakdown wasn’t fun) but we made it out to #Exeter #ChristmasMarket and I was really impressed at how easy it was to get around on the scooter, there were a few awkward bits (it is held in the grounds of the cathedral) but there was plenty of room between aisles and all of the steps had a ramped section. Cannot begin to describe how much I appreciate a town that makes an effort to be #Accessible
Am in the process of archiving and restoring my grandparents old photo collection. Wondered if anyone knows of any groups or hashtags to follow for people interested in #OldPhotos #PhotoRestoration #FamilyHistory etc. I don’t think I can be the only one on here to find this interesting but am struggling to find a corner of the the fediverse for it as of yet. Here are a couple I have worked on so far (#photographyBW)
It feels odd that I haven't yet posted any #crochet pictures as it's my main creative outlet. My main obsession over the last couple years has been designing and making #amigurumi bears. I have to be a bit careful with how many I do and break it up with shawls, blankets, jumpers etc as my hands don't love it but here are a few of my favourites (designs are all by me and my go to yarn is #paintbox cotton). Most are made as gifts for family/friends or just because I fancy a challenge
My #Saturday Night. Working on some #christmas #CrossStitch whilst listening to #dracula by #BramStoker on #audible. Also trying to avoid spending too much time looking at mastodon notifications as it is the first time I have found social media interesting in years
