Found a box of old, scratched-up family photos? Don’t pay someone $50 a pop to fix them. 🛑
The newest AI models (like ChatGPT Plus and Gemini) can now digitally reconstruct torn edges, remove water stains, and perfectly colorize black-and-white photos in seconds. You don't need Photoshop. You just need the right text prompt.
We just released a guide with the exact 6 copy-paste prompts that force AI to act like a professional photo conservator. It fixes fading, sharpens faces, and upscales the resolution instantly.

Found some old photos of my student life in #Singapore (30-40 years ago) from an online yearbook archive. I've restored photos before but they were always painstaking without necessarily good results. Using #NanoBanana and a well-defined prompt, I was able to get it really close to the real thing, restoring a fond memory. I try not to use genAI as much as possible, but something like this is more meaningful than generating random images. Can you recognize me? 😆
Photo restoration without AI
When we had our photo studio, one of my favourite jobs was to take a cherished photo belonging to a client, to scan it in high resolution and restore it, revealing detail that had no longer been visible in the faded, damaged print.
Image 1 is the original print I was given to work with.
Image 2 is the final restored photograph.
This photo of the little Victorian child was, perhaps, one of my favourites as the detail that emerged as I worked on the image revealed part of a family history of which I was unaware. The client had not been able to see that there was a tall figure to the right of the little girl in the picture. Once the restoration was complete, she told me that this lady was a relative that she knew of, and therefore this was the clue she needed to identify the little girl who was also a relative.
The satisfaction of restoring this part of a family history is perhaps not hard to imagine. We printed and framed this for her and it has pride of place on her wall.
Isn't she lovely?

Back when photo resoration was pretty new or at least accessable to the average person, I had this image restored. I think it was around $15 dollars US.
This is my maternal grandmother, Marilla, taken in the 1920's. Every single one of my siblings and I have her same style upper arms!
The little I know about her tells me she was def a woman of her age, and she had some trouble with the opium dens at the time.
These 1920s #FilmPhotos sat undeveloped for 100 years, until now: https://zorz.it/ZXyVQ
