The Skystone is a #glacial #erratic boulder in Bonney Lake, #Washington state. It was deposited approximately 13,000 years ago. It has over 20 pits pounded into its surface, presumably by members of the #Puyallup tribe. The holes seem to point towards both #astronomical and geographic features. #FolkloreThursday More: https://www.megalithic.co.uk/article.php?sid=58988 #folklore #archaeology
@gulovsen In general (painting with a wide brush), the people and content I see here seems much more focused and intellectual than the crap I see on Facebook and other platforms. Most other platforms are built around steering users to engage with ads and promoted content, so you end up with a lot of garbage and fake content created solely for the purpose of getting people to spend more time on the page and view more ads. Here it's real people talking with others about things they care about.

According to a new study, Roman water engineers were keeping up a regular program of managing and maintaining the ancient water systems. The evidence was captured in the limescale deposits which built up on the walls and floor of the ancient Roman aqueduct of Divona (Cahors, France).

The art of Roman water management revealed

While 21st century water companies struggle to maintain clean, fresh supplies, new research from an international team led by Oxford geoarchaeologist Dr. Güel Sürmelihindi, reveals that, some 2,000 years ago, Roman water engineers were keeping up a regular program of managing and maintaining the ancient water systems.

Honestly, folks. The former President of the US was just indicted for trying to steal an election.

He’s innocent until proven guilty.

But the indictment & what it represents make this one of the most important—& historic—legal cases in US history.

Don’t be numb to what it represents.

"Tuition at the boarding school ran more than $6,000 a month. But Thomas did not cover the bill. A bank statement for the school from July 2009, buried in unrelated court filings, shows the source of Martin’s tuition payment for that month: the company of billionaire real estate magnate Harlan Crow."

Clarence Thomas Had a Child in Private School. Harlan Crow Paid the Tuition.

Crow paid for private school for a relative Thomas said he was raising “as a son.” “This is way outside the norm,” said a former White House ethics lawyer.

In case you’re wondering how much snow has fallen in the Sierra Nevada… A friend shared this photo of a gentleman shoveling snow off his ROOF in Quincy, California.

If a bald eagle sat for a school photo, I imagine this is what it would look like 😂
