Hello there, recently protmoted General Class from New Hampshire. Looking forward to learning about and enjoying amateur radio. 73 and thanks for visiting!
My profile picture is a photo of the tower at Mount Washington Observatory.

So today I built Salty Walt's (K4OGO) 17.5 antenna, lashed it to the side of the porch, hooked up my new G90, and promptly made a contact in Hungary.
First DX contact and first HF contact that was not during field day.

I am just getting started.

Once the database updates I am now a General Class Operator. 👍
LED floodlights replaced with a different brand, and my persistent RFI issue appears to be solved. 👍
I am trying to program my Baofeng DM-1701 with OpenGD77.
The computer couldn't see the radio through the USB port, now I have the correct device showing in the device manager, and the OGD77 CPS software now cannot see the USB Serial port, which it could before.
The new cable wasn't expensive but hasn't fully resolved the problem.

Happy 11th birthday🎂 to the #FUNcube-1 (AO-73) satellite🛰️
It's still performing well after all these years. We'll have a little celebration with the team tonight.

THANK YOU to our #hamradio ground network📡, keep that data coming!

Seeing my old R-Type arcade board get a new lease of life over at the @rmcretro arcade is lovely. I need to book another visit to play in the rather chic retro cabinet they fashioned 🕹️👾❤️

One of the things that really curbs my enthusiasm for ham radio is the occasional blatant racism I hear on the air. I know this hobby attracts CHUDS, like being in a gun club, but fuck this shit drives me insane.
The trade-off for living in a wooded mountainous area is that you get lovely fall colors but have a hell of a time trying to see things in the sky like the aurora borealis and the occasional comet.
It probably isn’t good if Milton meets Leslie.
