An arborist in my club is doing a corrective cut and installing a pulley up in my 70 year old willow oak. He's already doing this for almost half a competitor's quote and then he says "and I'll throw an 80 meter end fed half wave antenna over the canopy for free."

Glad that part's free cause now I need to buy $200 of wire and supplies.

I’m at one year into #hamradio and today was the most meaningful day by far. I got to help dozens of elementary school students make “contacts” on the local RARS repeater.

Note that these girls, most of a minority racial or ethnic group, are having a lot of fun using communication technology. Throughout the day, the girls were consistently excited, curious, on task, overcoming anxiety to get on the air and just generally AMAZING!

I got one of the Explorer Pota33 masts that was on sale. Did some #SWL while detailing the minivan today, which was definitely better than NOT listening to shortwave whilst detailing the minivan. All India Radio Akashvani broadcast from #Bengaluru.

Heard in #FM05 #RaleighNC. Random wire dipole. Mast is held by an old umbrella stand I saved from the side of the road.
