I discovered that there is a good amount of #2m #FM activity, early in the day, but it was all in established nets. No takers for my CQ calls, but maybe my use of the FT-817's helical antenna didn't help.
In order to reduce the weight of kit I carry for portable operations, I have treated my FT-817 to a Windcamp battery.
I look forward to lighter weight when operating #QRP over the coming months.

Yes, 6m. I had my first 6m QSO on Saturday. It seems to be a band we all have access to, but ignore.
I have just discovered that, however hard I try, I cannot track an AliExpress order in the Temu app.
Last night's #RSGB #70cm #FMAC was fun. It was a lovely evening to be portable, but lots of flies were out too.

Sometimes the "help" I receive when doing DIY, is not helpful.
Tidied up the feeder by drilling a 30mm hole through the wall, and sealing the gap with pipe insulation. The overly large hole is so the coax and PL-259 fit through, thus preventing me having to terminate the coax after installation. The feeder coax is Messi & Paoloni Ultraflex 10.
Just erected a Diamond X-30 antenna, for 2m and 70cm. I know it should be higher, it's on the apex of a single storey garage, and there's vegetation around it, but I'm going by the old saying "the best antenna is the one you're using" (or words to that effect).
