We are still using tape for sealing our crystal plates. Does anyone use the CleaSeal from Gibco or the even more expensive UVXPO from SwissSCI and can share some experience?@strucbio #ProteinCrystalography
Our protein crystallography course 2023 is in full swing. It's a nice group! However, I still get amazed that students can surprise me after 10y+ teaching. Never saw an diffraction image as shown. Prob the detector moved during exposure?🤔(that should definitely NOT happen 😬) #ProteinCrystallography #StructualBiology

Sergey OvchinnikovOne issue with using methods like AlphaFold or RoseTTAFold for design is that they were trained to model P(structure|sequence). They were only trained on valid sequences. So if you use AF for design, you are likely to find adversarial sequences that trick the model. So you need a way to model the validity of the sequence or the P(sequence). Enter protein language models! (1/5)
