You guys! My box of old #cables paid off! I bought an old optiplex 7010 as media server and could not get an image via displayport. The monitor triggered but nothing showed up. I headed to the cellar, pulled out an old monitor with #VGA input and a VGA cable burried deep, deep in the lower strata of my cable junk and voila, it worked.

I will never throw away any cables after this!

Ich bin kein Fan von ihm.

Ich finde es einen Witz des Universums, dass Deutschland in dieser Rolle steckt, quasi alles hat, um mit Frankreich, der EU und der UK eine führende Rolle auf der Weltbühne einzunehmen und wir dafür den Kerl hinschicken, dessen resting face die beleidigte Leberwurst ist.

Gleichzeitig ist es wichtig, dass er, CSU und SPD eine stabile Regierung stellen, die nicht nur weitermerkelt, sondern Weichen stellt und Dinge angeht (es wird Jahrzehnte dauern, die Versäumnisse früherer GroKos aufzuholen).

Wenn Merz das nicht schafft, stärkt er die gesichert Rechtsextremen (Spahn und Dobrindt helfen da wenig).

Merz ist jemand, der in Verantwortung gestolpert ist. Jetzt muss er zeigen, ob er das Zeug hat, daran zu wachsen oder ob er nur labern kann.

Ich mag ihn nicht. Aber ich wünsche mir, dass er es schafft und dass er mir zeigt, dass ich ihn im falsch liege - das wünsche ich mir für uns alle.

Stop hero worshipping people. A large reason for the present toxicity in politics, technology, and business alike is this penchant to elevate and worship the mythical “rockstar individual contributor” instead of acknowledging the collective efforts of teams and organizations.

The CEO isn’t responsible for the success of their enterprise, individual politicians cannot fix entire countries, and the entire city of Silicon Valley isn’t deserving of being placed on a holy pedestal just because some rich white guys could build successful businesses in a garage.

Individuals don’t build institutions, they destroy them. Strong institutions are built and supported by armies of people working in concert towards a shared outcome, not some rich fuckhead schmoozing at Davos or giving speeches in front of sanitized corporate slide decks to an audience of fans. Good leaders don’t do that shit, because they’re too busy leading their organizations to concern themselves with self-aggrandizement.
