Another wanderer.

This great egret flew directly overhead while I was sitting outside this morning. There were dark clouds at the time but I'm not complaining. It's always interesting to see these birds fly by. Egrets and Herons used to gather at a pond about three of four hundred meters down the road from my house. But there's a house next to the pond now and I don't think that they gather in the numbers that they used to if they do at all.

This was early spring, at the feeder from left to right is a blue grosbeak (Passerina caerulea), a house sparrow (Passer domesticus), and peaking around the right side of the feeder is a bird I can't quite make out.

Stop Following Me!

Here we have a female northern cardinal (Cardinalis cardinalis) Hiding on top of a Chinese tallow bough. She is definitely tracking me. I took this during a walk in the forest with the dogs. I have lots of cardinal photos, but it's somehow more satisfying getting a photo in the forest than in my backyard.
