🔥are mostly notable over Tropical #Africa & #SouthAmerica. A bit less but still in #India & #Australia.
This animation depicts the "Alternative" #Fire Radiative Power (FRP) that combines in an optimal way F1 or S7 channels, depending on their quality per L1 pixel.
Based on the Collection 2.0 developed by @[email protected] & operationally deployed in December 2021 https://www.eumetsat.int/release-collection-2-s3-nrt-fire-radiative-power.
Easy to travel ~1600 km in 8h from London - across Channel - to South of France (for private matters).
Low carbon footprint (<7 kg CO2), and at the same time monitoring #scientific quality of our @[email protected] #Sentinel3 #NRT #atmosphere products @[email protected]!
The freezing cold polar air that poured over the US at the end of the year swept the warm air over Europe, as shown by IASI images (thanks to my PhD Marie for the animation)
