Not always, or at least not always as a super significant element of the story, but Chronicles of the Realms is different, and particularly Edenia,

As Askaly says, one of the languages they speak is "flower," as symbolisms—or, as they call, it flower's soul—is incredibly important for them, and every half-plant species has the potential to grow flowers on their own bodies, as we see with Mileena and her lilies of the valley:
