Not moving yet - apparently settings need to propagate first. But at some point, I will be elsewhere.
Now that I've gotten my feet damp here, I'm going to try and move my account over to hcommons.social. My sincere apologies if I break something along the way! If this goes sideways somehow, you should be able to find me again at @hilarydoda
Is anyone here an expert in #Victorian #AestheticPeriod #jewellery? This is a bit of a long shot, but I'm trying to work out some background on a bar brooch that may date from that time, possibly purchased in #Finland c. 1880s. #histodons

One last email check before bed, and I found out that my article on Scottish Cape Breton overshot weaving has been accepted at Textile History. It's a fun piece, and I met so many interesting local folks while researching. I'm glad it has a home.

(Now if *I* could only learn to weave overshot properly... )

So how do you find people on here and how do you find people who aren’t in your little tiny server universe here? Basically I spent years and years cultivating a Twitter feed full of brilliant, funny, amazing people from all sorts of backgrounds and universes and experiences and trying to set this up is making me kinda want to hide in a cave for 13 years or so. (Also still on Twitter. But Elon could yank it any day. Sigh.) Do I have it in me to adapt to another platform? Only time will tell!
Hi fellow #histodons! Here’s our #introduction - this is the official mastodon account for the European Review of History - a Taylor & Francis journal which covers all aspects of European history. We were founded 29 years ago (turning 30 next year!) to represent the work of early career researchers. We’ll be announcing lots of exciting new projects in the coming months that we’d love for you to be involved with so stay tuned…

Ok #histodons, where are my other #ArtHistodons? 🎨

I'm an art historian of the #Tudor period, interested in #VisualCulture, #MaterialCulture & the #HistoryOfIdeas as it manifests in art. I'm also interested in the connections between #Music, #VisualArt and #Literature.

Currently working on projects related to #Time, #Temporality and #Global connections!

Side interests in #Ghosts...

Help me find more #BIPoC Accounts, for me, for you, for everyone on #Mastodon

If you're #black #indigenous or #peopleofcolor feel free to comment, if you like you can comment who you are and/or what you do, so other people can follow you more easily

I will report everyone who dares to comment something hateful or attacks anyone here
