Hello, Mastodon

What's it with people reporting every single person they dont like..

Please, stop with that.

This is not #Twitter. Please use features like mute or block if you don't like people but stop reporting otherwise I'll start banning people who keep reporting for nothing

I'm trying to keep things running with so many new people and it's such a waste of time to hear whatever you don't like

Otherwise go waste Elon's time, not mine

@stux I've been looking into starting an instance. How would you comply with authorities in case of illegal content being uploaded via tor?
@petko Just like normal, ban and remove
@stux I'm afraid this will be considered tampering with evidence here...
@petko Sorry, I have no clue what you mean

@stux @petko
So, let's say that I notice that someone has uploaded child exploitation content via their mstdn.social account. I report this to the police, and they begin an investigation. Part of that investigation is demanding that you provide them with the contents of that post, and any information you have about the poster.

If you've deleted the post, you cannot provide that information. By removing the post, you've deleted the evidence that a crime has even taken place, which could be seen (depending on local laws) as interfering with a police investigation.

@stux I helped update the instructions for tor on mastodon GitHub
@stux how do you get a .onion address?
@stux And if you want less anonymity you can post your credit card numbers on Twitter!
