Today's shot comes from a magical day in the Scottish #Highlands, a few years ago, when I was photographing red squirrels.

These charming characters are incredibly agile and can jump great distances between trees.

Here I managed to capture one as it appears to be flying down my lens.

I now have the loathèd phrase filtered, in all contexts, and hidden without warning. That’s how annoying it is to me.

In practice, in engineering, the terms ‘random’ and ‘stochastic’ are completely interchangeable, wherever ‘stochastic’ is used.

The person who invented the obfuscation thought ‘stochastic’ meant ‘something not random that you don’t know what it will be’, which is AN OXYMORON. To say something is random is EQUIVALENT TO saying you don’t know what it will be! They mean the same thing.

I think I am going to filter out the phrase that means ‘inciting terrorism’ and misuses the term ‘stochastic’, because it gets me so freaking upset to see people misuse Greek to make themselves sound hifalutin, and obfuscating what they are actually talking about.

‘Stochastic’ is used in engineering to mean ‘something random about which you are making an informed guess’. It does not mean ‘incitement’. It comes from a Greek term meaning ‘guess’.
