One of the #reading #challenges I'm doing has a prompt for a book set in #Aotearoa, and as I don't know much about the literature from down there... I'd be particularly interested in any #books on #Māori culture.
I've now cancelled my own #Mastodon instance, as it wasn't really needed, at this moment in time. I'm okay being on this and other instances that are hosted by others.
I will eventually set up another one, but only when I'm ready to actually host it myself.

Jesus taught to love your neighbor as yourself, and to welcome the stranger who resides in your land.
These Trumpian policies go directly against these core teachings of Jesus and are taking his name in vein.
My biggest complaint about #Mastodon, at the moment, is the inability to #translate posts. Being given the option to translate a post, from a language you don't speak, should be on by default. There are some posts I can click an option to translate and others (see example image), I can't.
It does bug me as I would very much like to know what these #Japanese posts are saying, especially those that relate to #anime.
Does anyone know if there's a dedicated #bookstodon instance?
