Regular reminder: if your site or app doesn’t work in Firefox, it’s broken.
I lived through the “this site requires and/or is best in IE” era, and I’d rather burn it all down than return to that.
Pro-tip: Firefox does most things better anyway. Give it a spin and enjoy a less-tracked web.
Traveling today, I saw a bunch of "End Road Construction" signs that didn't appear to be tried to a construction site.
Now I'm beginning to wonder if they were some kind of protest...
Reliance on BMI as a measure of weight and health has deepened inequities and led to inaccuracies and overgeneralizations.
And BMI is simply not that helpful to determine somebody’s need for obesity treatment. People with the same BMI may have substantially different percentages of body fat based on a variety of factors such as age, muscle mass, sex and race.
"Let's not overcomplicate this:
Republicans passed a $2 trillion tax cut for billionaires and corporations.
And now they're refusing to pay for it.
It's really that simple. " Rep Adam Schiff

And if anyone's curious, I have a lot of good things to say about Rocksmith. I played guitar before I had kids, but it was almost all chords and I skipped the solos and single-string plucking stuff because I always got lost trying to play along with music.
I bought Rocksmith 18 months ago to get back into playing, and I've gotten a lot better at all aspects of guitar. It's challenging, but has a well-designed learning curve. Still a long way to go, but better than I ever was before!
After I was laid off and going through interviews, one of my reprieves was firing up Rocksmith and jamming along on my guitar pretty much every day. It was a great way to break up the day, lose myself in the music, and build a skill.
When I started my current job 6 weeks ago, I threw myself into it and hadn't made the time for guitar. I did today for the first time since I started, and wow, does it feel like all synapses are firing!
Thinking of finding a smaller mastodon instance, but not sure where would make sense...
Any suggestions?
