Shy extrovert with strong opinions mixed with a healthy dose of skepticism and curiosity. I read more than I write. I enjoy the eureka! moments and occasional stepping in someone else's shoes. I have chosen to remain anonymous so that I can be frank in my opinions, likes, and followings. I also have a profile on mastodon.uno to be able to participate in the Italian community. I don't accept follower requests because it makes me feel very self-conscious -- I am working on getting over it.
Here's Colbert's interview with Talarico, not on the Carr-controlled, Trump-tainted airwaves but in the free air of the internet. As I post this, 500k have watched. Let's make sure more people see it on YouTube than TV. Call that the Carr Effect.

I stopped using Twitter a year ago, but kept the account active for reasons. Today, I decided I didn't care about those reasons any more.

Twitter: The Final Exit

It’s been a year since I left the former Twitter, in terms of posting there, but I kept the account active so that tweets that were linked to from elsewhere would still be active, and to keep…

🇨🇦 I'm getting more and more people asking for these, so here you go... my 3 posts on our move to #Canada (Why, How, More...), along with our immigration lawyer's info, but he's overwhelmed right now, for good reason:

FYI, he's swamped now. (Ian)

Honestly, if you’re in the US, please vote. Don’t let a fascist take control. Don’t think that it can’t possibly happen there. This might be your last chance to vote. Don’t waste it. Sitting it out won’t help your cause but it will definitely endanger a lot of lives. That’s my take on it.

Mastodon is financed by crowdfunding instead of venture capital not because we don't know that venture capital exists, not because we don't have bills to pay, and not because venture capital isn't willing to give money to new social media platforms. VCs don't want a sustainable business, they want a big exit. Every VC-backed business is on a timer to deliver or die.

Hen in the Fox House: Jorge Velázquez and Ramiro González Better Served Democracy than Bret Baier - emptywheel

Bret Baier's interview of Kamala Harris was probably only the third most important TV yesterday. On Univision, before a viewing audience that includes far more undecided swing voters, Trump refused to answer three questions few journalists have ever asked him, including why he did nothing as his rioters attacked the Capitol and how mass deportation will lead food prices to rise.

OK, Trump got his ass kicked by Harris this week. That’s great but it’s time to move on. Specifically, to the huge national security / malign actor interference risk that Donald John presents as early as a week from tomorrow. Thread:
