Jeremy Corbyn on Instagram: "A new study has found that almost half of children in Gaza wish to die, as a result of the trauma they have been forced to endure. Every single supplier of arms to Israel has blood on its hands — and the world will never forgive them."

I doubt very many people have really wrapped their brains around recent escalations in the Ukraine Russia war zone. This is far more serious than the relaxed page three media coverage implies. https://podcast.silverado.org/episodes/putins-nuclear-meltdown #atacms #standwithukraine #russiainvadedukraine #nuclearescalation #nuclearwar #ukraine #russia #democracy #nafo #ICBM #Putin #Putinwarcriminal #nuclearwar #nuclearweapons #EasternEurope #NATO

Hello. Not been here for a bit. This is a good watch. I’m supporting farmers, small mixed farms, cut out the supermarkets and inheritance tax. This is why.

Why inheritance tax charges are really good for real farmers – but not for financial whizz kids

#COP28 has shown once again that relying on our capitalist masters to make the proper choices in the face of climate and environmental disaster is a terrible idea. They cannot be trusted.

From climate scientist Peter Kalmus (@ClimateHuman) --

"COP Out: Wrapping Up a Useless Climate Summit That Should Fool Nobody"

The climate summit that ended last week delivered non-binding words. What humanity and the Earth need is determined, coordinated action to end fossil fuels, and the useless words from COP28 will only serve to delay that action.

The presiding official was a fossil fuel CEO, Sultan al-Jaber, who, two days after the meeting ended, promised that his oil corporation will continue investing in oil and expanding fossil fuels. OPEC, in a joint statement with the Gas Exporting Countries Forum, congratulated the UAE on the "positive outcome" for the fossil fuel industry.

Where do we go from here?

We need to start by agreeing that COP28, like other COPs, was a complete failure. Claiming that it was somehow not a failure, clinging to bits of false hope, generates a powerful illusion that Business As Usual can continue.

We've been doing this for 30 years now. The possibility of keeping heating to under 1.5°C has been squandered. If we cling to false hope that it's working, we will keep doing it, year after year, making no progress. This is what the fossil fuel industry wants; this is how we lose a planet.

We need to establish an international summit and fossil fuel treaty system that isn't broken under the weight of fossil fuel industry corruption. To do this, we need to ban the fossil fuel industry from the negotiations, and doing this will require a stronger climate movement.

Every single one of us can work, in our own way, to make the movement stronger. Be a climate activist: join with other climate activists and take risks. It's up to us.

Another recent print from #FolktaleWeek2023 for #ArtAdventCalendar: the Sídhe, the Aos sí, the fair folk, the good people, or the people of the shee from Irish folklore, who live underground. You may know the banshee, or Bean sídhe or woman of the sídhe. In fact the very word Sídhe is the term for earthen mounds like the one in my #linocut and the Aos sí are “the people of mounds.” 🧵1/n

@breadandcircuses not just industrial farming, but domestic applications of weedkillers and pesticides. They may not kill the birds, but they kill the slugs, which are they eaten by the birds
The result is exactly the same – a dead bird.
In Edinburgh the song thrush has all but disappeared, but they thrive in less manicured environments where gardeners are not trying to kill slugs or weeds.
