I am a CAD/CAM guy who would rather work in Rhino than TopSolid.

🚨 Say that I were to give a talk to EU policy makers and OSS communities at a very big conference tomorrow..

and that I want to spend half of my talk on how Google is locking down #Android through:
1. Device attestation
2. Developer registration
3. Age/identity verification

What should I absolutely include? 👀

Input is welcome, sorry for the short notice. Plain language + realistic calls to action pls.

Here's a thought experiment.

Imagine a stamp mark with the words "Made with #AI" on it.

If you see this mark on a picture, illustration, mobile app, song, movie, or story - do you get the notion that this product is of higher, lower or unchanged quality?

If you see two identical products for the same price, where one has an AI mark and the other doesn't - which one would you buy?

(Please retoot this #LLM #poll for wider reach)

AI mark signals HIGHER quality

AI mark signals NO DIFFERENCE in quality

AI mark signals LOWER quality

I'm am absolutely on board with the blunt but long-overdue honesty of this hot drinks machine.
If any random app asks for government issued IDs with a selfie, it's a major red flag. 🚩 Do not provide them. Please share this warning with all your friends/family. You should only provide government issued ID when it's for something critical, such as:
* Getting a passport
* Obtaining a citizenship card
* Acquiring a driving license
* Opening bank accounts
Any other request for your ID by any app will likely lead to it being leaked or sold, putting everyone at risk. It's a sad reality

Do you think governments should move towards using a Linux distro for computer systems rather than windows?

Please boost for maximum exposure.

When TopSolid crashes to desktop (which is a frequent phenomenon) usually it asks if you want to dump the current opened files in the disk with the .rsc extension.

That works but not always. It always shows a loading bar, pretending to save as a .rsc file, but only after you have waited this process out you can discover if it actually created the file or not.
