I am a CAD/CAM guy who would rather work in Rhino than TopSolid.

Pass it on."

Do you think governments should move towards using a Linux distro for computer systems rather than windows?

Please boost for maximum exposure.

When TopSolid crashes to desktop (which is a frequent phenomenon) usually it asks if you want to dump the current opened files in the disk with the .rsc extension.

That works but not always. It always shows a loading bar, pretending to save as a .rsc file, but only after you have waited this process out you can discover if it actually created the file or not.

Neat website, thought I'd share

Proton is leaving Mastodon. Boo 👎

I didn't realize how fucking useful the word 'fucking' is for eliminating AI

Turns out, it's really fucking useful!

Somehow the toolbar icons break. Their position gets shifted, so the place where tou expect to see icon X is now occupied by two halfs of some other icons.

Occasionally. There is no pattern.
I don't care why it breaks or if there is a workaround. I don't want it to break.

A little XP era nostalgia that is brought to you by the toolbar.

TopSolid is a mess.
I'm sure it started as an ambitious idea but the implementation sucks balls.

It becomes clear that they have no idea how to create a usable product, from things like the toolbar. The first few icons that the devs had to create, the most generic ones, are basically a rip-off from the windows resources.

Also great resolution icons, heh? I'm sure they had 140ppi density in mind.

Evert time I open the CAM environment, I'm greeted with the message in the screenshot.

"Cannot convert string to real."

Where is that conversion been attempted?
Did I supply a string where I shouldn't have? If so, not on purpose. Why were there no user input validation?
Then again, could it have nothing to do with the user? Could it be an internal thing?

Very useful message!
